Season 1 (1999)
The show introduces the Griffin family—Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Stewie, and Brian. Stewie plots world domination, Brian acts as the voice of reason, and Peter’s stupidity often leads to trouble. Key episodes include "Death Has a Shadow", where Peter accidentally commits welfare fraud, and "Brian: Portrait of a Dog", where Brian runs away and nearly gets euthanized.
Season 2 (1999–2000)
The humor gets darker, and cutaway gags become more prominent. Stewie’s villainous side develops further, and Brian’s personality deepens. Highlights include "Da Boom", where the Griffins survive a Y2K apocalypse, and "Road to Rhode Island", the first Brian & Stewie road trip episode.
Season 3 (2001–2003)
The show hits its stride but is canceled due to low ratings. Notable episodes include "To Love and Die in Dixie", where the Griffins enter witness protection, and "Brian Wallows and Peter’s Swallows", which won an Emmy for its emotional depth.
Season 4 (2005–2006)
The show returns after a successful DVD run. The humor becomes even edgier, and more pop culture references are included. Key episodes: "Petarded", where Peter is declared mentally challenged, and "PTV", a satire of TV censorship.
Season 5 (2006–2007)
More outrageous stories emerge, such as "Stewie Loves Lois", where Stewie becomes obsessed with his mother, and "Meet the Quagmires", where Peter time-travels to the '80s and alters his future.
Season 6 (2007–2008)
The controversial "Stewie Kills Lois / Lois Kills Stewie" two-parter imagines Stewie taking over the world. Another highlight is "Blue Harvest", a Star Wars parody.
Season 7 (2008–2009)
Features more bizarre and dark humor, including "Road to Germany", where Stewie and Brian time-travel to Nazi-occupied Poland. The season ends with "Stew-Roids", where Stewie gets buff.
Season 8 (2009–2010)
Brian and Stewie’s relationship deepens in "Brian & Stewie", and another Star Wars parody, "Something, Something, Something, Dark Side", is released.
Season 9 (2010–2011)
The show takes bigger risks, including "And Then There Were Fewer", where major characters are killed in a murder mystery. Brian falls for an older woman in "Brian Writes a Bestseller."
Season 10 (2011–2012)
The show continues experimenting with its formula. "Back to the Pilot" sees Brian and Stewie revisiting the first episode, while "Lottery Fever" shows the Griffins’ disastrous attempt at wealth.
Season 11 (2012–2013)
Highlights include "Yug Ylimaf", where Brian and Stewie reverse time, and "Roads to Vegas", featuring Stewie and Brian clones.
Season 12 (2013–2014)
The infamous "Life of Brian" episode temporarily kills off Brian, replacing him with Vinny. He is later revived. "The Simpsons Guy" is a crossover episode with The Simpsons.
Season 13 (2014–2015)
Brian has a mid-life crisis in "Brian’s a Bad Father", and the Griffins visit Springfield in "The Simpsons Guy."
Season 14 (2015–2016)
Peter starts a podcast in "Pilling Them Softly", and Chris dates his teacher in "Hot Pocket-Dial."
Season 15 (2016–2017)
Quagmire fathers a daughter in "A House Full of Peters", and Stewie faces therapy in "Send in Stewie, Please."
Season 16 (2017–2018)
Stewie’s sexuality is explored in "Send in Stewie, Please." The show also parodies The Great Gatsby in "Passenger Fatty-Seven."
Season 17 (2018–2019)
Brian marries a dying woman in "Married with Cancer", and Meg turns 18 in "Girl, Internetted."
Season 18 (2019–2020)
Peter meets his long-lost twin in "Rich Old Stewie", and Stewie builds a machine to predict the future in "Absolutely Babulous."
Season 19 (2020–2021)
Stewie gets smart in "Fecal Matters", and Brian starts vlogging in "The Marrying Kind."
Season 20 (2021–2022)
Quagmire accidentally marries a man in "Lawyer Guy", and Stewie tries out therapy again in "Therapize Me."
Season 21 (2022–2023)
The Griffins go to Canada in "White Meg Can't Jump", and Stewie time-travels again in "A Bottle Episode."
Season 22 (2023–2024)
Brian explores AI in "Old World Harm", and Peter finds himself in a Breaking Bad-style crime story.
